I cannot get this damn thing off Granted, Im a total noob to this style of firearm, but Im wondering what I am doing wrong. We already have had people claim that SRI jailbroke their can yet we have no records of them doing it, ATF doesn't like people who manufacturer components, ESPECIALLY those that know all to well(to come up with the SRI did it excuse) and try to get away with it. And I love it Picked up some of the upgrades from CW today, and after cleaning my gun, I tried to unscrew the threaded barrel cap with the wrench Sig provided. Sig Sauer P938 9mm 3-inch 7rds Black Siglite Night Sights Massachusetts Compliant AUTO-ORDNANCE THOMPSON 1927A-1. The same database helps in the event that someone is accused of making something themselves we can bail them out in a sense of the term. You only file a Form2 when a new registered component is manufactured everything else is considered course of business for an 07/02. When we service an NFA item its logged into our A&D and we keep a database of what serial numbers we deal with and what we do to them, that way when someone is questioned about their recore/jailbreak etc(which HAS happened) and the owner says SRI did it when the ATF calls(which they have) to attempt verification we can positively confirm or deny our involvement. ATF allows for individual replacement of wipes, and not even a drunk, high ATF agent could ever call the main silencer component(in this case a metal oil filter) a replaceable wipe. Once you MAKE the silencer its done, manufacturer is a continual thing.
If you make it yourself(Form1) you can not replace the worn out oil filter because you are the maker of the silencer not a manufacturer of silencers, only manufacturers are allowed to replace silencers parts, a maker is not a manufacturer. Yes, an 07/02 can replace it to their hearts desire and experiment with different manufacturers of oil filters.
No it is not user replaceable, thats the biggest reason why you don't see registered soda bottle adapters out there.
